“What matters today… is not how much our students know, but what they can do with what they know”

– Tony Wagner

This quote.. WOW.

Teaching now days is a lot different from what it used to be. It used to be that teachers taught students specific things so they they can work in a factory, for example. Now days, we as teachers need to not only teach the required subjects (math, science, etc.) but also teach life skills. After being done school, students should be able to take what they have learned in class and apply it to their everyday lives. Teachers need to hold their students to become active members of society. And after doing so, you will have so much joy knowing that you helped grow those little students of yours.

  1. Hi Keanna, I enjoyed reading your blog post for today. I agree that when students are done in your classroom, they should be able to have multiple life skills that will help them in the real world. Do you think teachers today are striving for this outcome, opposed to the “factory line” way?
